Stagent joins the fight against climate change

At Stagent, we’re proud innovators and forward thinkers. We also believe that it’s our responsibility to give back to the world. In this day and age, climate change poses a significant threat to all life on our planet, and for that reason we’re proud to join Transistor’s list of startups that are fighting climate change.

This partnership means that we’ll be giving a 1% portion of our revenue every month to fighting climate change. For us this is a really important thing to do, because we understand that our business is not exactly the most carbon footprint neutral industry out there.

Touring artists have some of the highest carbon footprints out there. One famous example, Coldplay, has announced that they will stop touring completely until shows are environmentally friendly.

One report shows that in 2019, Resident Advisor’s Top 100 DJs collectively produced 35,000,000 Kg of Co2 emissions - which is the equivalent of the emissions produced by 20,000 households worth of energy usage, or powering 8,000 festivals for three days. Between them, 51,000 flights were taken and 3,200,000 liters of fuel were used.

After seeing statistics like this, we feel an immense responsibility to give back to the world and do our part to offset these emissions. Clearly, this is not sustainable, and we are taking the steps to be part of the solution now. We’re happy to be part of the solution by supporting initiatives like this one. In the meantime, we’ll also be sure to do what we can to help innovate our industry and reduce each artist's individual carbon footprint.
